What does Landlord Lite do?

It's a simple bookkeeping app for small landlords and house hackers. You can track your properties and units, your tenants and leases, the rent that comes in, your expenses and receipts, and your utility bills and how they're split. A financials view then shows expected versus received income, mortgage and expenses, and a clear net figure per property and month.

What's the difference between Landlord Mode and House Hacker Mode?

You choose a mode when you first set up the app. Landlord Mode is built for tracking your rental units straightforwardly. House Hacker Mode is for when you live in one part of a property and rent out the rest — it adds a mortgage-offset view so you can see how much of your housing cost your tenants are effectively covering. You can pick whichever fits your situation.

How many properties or units can I track?

Landlord Lite is designed for people managing roughly one to five units. You can get started for free, and Landlord Lite Pro removes the unit limit entirely if your portfolio grows.

What does it cost? Is there a subscription?

The app is free to download and use for your first units. Landlord Lite Pro is an optional upgrade that unlocks unlimited units and data export. Purchases are handled securely through the App Store using your existing Apple ID — we never see or store any payment details.

What do I need to run it?

An iPhone with a recent version of iOS. To sync across your devices you'll need to be signed in to iCloud with iCloud Drive enabled — but that's optional, and the app works fully on a single device without it.

How does syncing work, and where is my data stored?

Your data is stored on your device and synced through your own private iCloud account, so it stays available across your iPhones (and any other devices on the same Apple ID). It travels between Apple's iCloud and your devices only — it never passes through any server of ours. If you turn off iCloud, your data simply stays local to that device.

Is my information private?

Yes. Landlord Lite makes no network calls of its own. There are no accounts to create, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking. We don't collect, receive or share your data. For the complete details, see our privacy policy.

How does receipt scanning work?

When you add an expense you can scan a paper receipt. Text recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple's built-in framework to read the amount and details — nothing is uploaded anywhere. You can always review and edit what it reads before saving.

Will it remind me about rent?

Yes. With your permission, Landlord Lite can send local payment reminders so rent days don't slip past. These notifications are generated on your device; no information leaves it.

How do I get help or send feedback?

Email dev-team@riddellapps.com. Whether it's a question, a bug, or an idea for the next update, it's genuinely appreciated — Landlord Lite is built for independent landlords, and your feedback shapes where it goes next.
