Privacy Policy

Effective date: 4 June 2026

This policy explains how the Landlord Lite app ("Landlord Lite", "the app", "we", "us") handles your information. We've kept it plain so you can see exactly what happens to your data — because with Landlord Lite, the short answer is: it stays yours.

The summary: Landlord Lite has no servers and makes no network connections of its own. We do not collect, receive, store, sell, or share your personal information. Your data lives on your device and, if you choose, syncs through your own private Apple iCloud account.

1. Information we collect

We do not collect any personal data. Landlord Lite has no developer-operated servers and does not transmit your information to us or to any third party. We have no access to the records you keep in the app.

2. Information you store in the app

To do its job, the app stores the data you choose to enter on your device. This may include:

  • Property and unit details (such as addresses and expected rent).
  • Tenant information you add (such as names, email addresses, phone numbers and lease dates).
  • Rent payments, expenses, utility bills and their splits.
  • Photos of receipts you scan, and the text recognised from them.

This information is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and, where it concerns your tenants, for handling it in line with any applicable laws in your area.

3. iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, the app uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your data across your own devices and back it up. In this case your data is transmitted between your devices and Apple's iCloud, stored within your personal iCloud account, and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We never have access to your iCloud data. If you do not use iCloud, your data simply remains on the single device where you entered it.

4. On-device processing

Receipt scanning uses Apple's on-device text recognition framework. Images and the text recognised from them are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded anywhere by the app.

5. Notifications

If you grant permission, the app can schedule local payment reminders. These notifications are created and delivered on your device. No information leaves your device to generate them, and you can disable them at any time in iOS Settings.

6. Purchases

Landlord Lite Pro is offered as an in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store using your Apple ID. All payment processing is handled by Apple; we never receive or store your payment card details or billing information. Purchase handling is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.

7. Third-party services

The app does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software development kits (SDKs). The only third-party service involved is Apple — specifically iCloud/CloudKit (for optional sync) and the App Store (for optional purchases) — and only because the app runs on Apple's platform.

8. How your information is used

The data you enter is used solely to provide the app's features on your device: organising your properties, tenants, payments, expenses and financial summaries. Because we never receive your data, we do not and cannot use it for any other purpose, including marketing or profiling.

9. Data retention and deletion

Your data remains on your device for as long as you keep it. You can delete individual records within the app at any time, and deleting the app removes its locally stored data from that device. If you use iCloud sync, you can manage or remove the app's iCloud data through your device's iCloud settings.

10. Children's privacy

Landlord Lite is intended for adults managing rental property and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect data at all, no such information reaches us.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to restrict its processing. Because all of your data stays under your control on your own device and in your own iCloud account, you can exercise these rights directly: view, edit and delete records within the app, and manage backups through iCloud. We hold no copy of your data to act upon.

12. Security

Your data benefits from the security of your device (such as your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID) and, where used, the protections Apple applies to iCloud. We encourage you to keep your device and Apple ID secured. As with any software, no method of storage can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect new app features or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated policy at this address. Significant changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
